FeraMAX® Pd Powder 15 is an oral iron powder supplement formulated to make iron therapy convenient and well tolerated for children. It delivers elemental iron in a polydextrose-iron complex (PDIC) that is easier on the stomach than traditional iron salts. Its pleasant grape-raspberry flavour helps improve compliance, and it does not stain teeth. The powder can be dissolved in water or mixed with soft foods or cereals, making daily iron supplementation easier for families.

INDICATION

RECOMMENDED DOSE

Dosing by Age of Child

• Infants and children (3 years or younger):

 Take ¼–½ tsp (15–30 mg elemental iron) once daily, based on body weight (3–6 mg/kg/day) and degree of iron deficiency, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner

• Children (4–13 years):

 Take ¼–½ tsp (15–30 mg elemental iron) once daily, based on body weight (3–6 mg/kg/day) and degree of iron deficiency, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner

• Adolescents and adults (14 years and older):

 Take ½–¾ tsp (30–45 mg elemental iron) once daily, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• Dissolve dose in a small amount of water before administration to infants and children (3 years or younger)

• Dissolve in water or mix into soft foods or powdered cereals

• Take with food, a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products

• Measure into level scoops using the ¼ tsp provided

• Stir into warm or room-temperature water until fully dissolved

• Solution will turn brown when dissolved

• Additional water may be added to dilute to taste

• Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use and for prolonged use
