Alkalinity Refill Reagents

Benchmark Alkalinity Refill Reagents restock the liquid reagents used with the Benchmark Alkalinity Test Kit. Each refill set includes enough Reagent A and Reagent B for 100 alkalinity tests.

This is the same blue-to-red method we built for frequent testing on the New Dawn Aquaculture coral farm, with titrant strength tuned so the amount used converts directly to dKH.

Testing Range

Designed for the Benchmark alkalinity method with a 0-20 dKH test range.

Test Procedure

1. Add 5.00 mL aquarium water to the test vial.
2. Add 2 drops of Reagent A.
3. Swirl gently. The sample should turn blue.
4. Use Reagent B to titrate slowly while swirling.
5. Stop at the stable colour change from blue to red.
6. Calculate dKH = mL of Reagent B used x 10.
