Directions

Adults and children 12+ : To relieve acid-related symptoms, take one tablet. To prevent acid-related symptoms brought on by consuming food and/or beverage, take one tablet 10 to 15 minutes before eating. If symptoms return, you may take another tablet. Do not take more than one tablet at a time. Can be used up to twice daily (up to 2 tablets in 24 hours). If symptoms continue for more than 14 days, talk to your doctor.

Cautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using if you: (1) Are allergic to any component of this product or have had an allergic reaction to another product that contains an acid reducer. (2) Are pregnant or breast-feeding. (3) Have difficulty swallowing, or persistent abdominal discomfort (stomach pains). (4) Have severe kidney disease or any other severe illnesses. (5) Are over 40 and you are experiencing new or recently changed symptoms of acid indigestion or heartburn. (6) Are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDs] (because these medicines may be causing your symptoms). (7) Have a previous history of ulcer disease complications. (8) Are experiencing unintended weight loss in association with your symptoms of acid indigestion or heartburn. (9) You are taking a proton pump inhibitor. (10) Your heartburn is frequent (greater than 3 times per week) and or severe. Maximum strength Pepcid AC is generally well tolerated. Should any unusual symptoms occur, consult a doctor right away. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help immediately or contact a Poison Control Centre right away.
