These botanical herbs individually have a long history of use in the management and prevention of undesirable symptoms associated with a decline in estrogen levels that occur during perimenopause and menopause. Fenugreek seeds are a source of a particularly powerful class of molecules called saponins, particularly protodioscin, which has been studied for its aphrodisiac and estrogen-modulating properties. Studies suggest this is the active molecule responsible for the hormone-balancing effects of this herb.
Saffron has long been touted as the “cure for all that ails you”- gaining interest for its wide-ranging benefits from cardiovascular support and more recently for its positive effects on mood in depression and anxiety.
