Applying your new sensor is a lot easier than you might think. To begin, select an area on the back of your upper arm and:

Wash the area using plain soap and water.

Removing and replacing your sensor

Step 4: Removing and replacing your sensor

It’s easy to remove and replace your sensor—follow the steps below to learn how:

Your sensor is designed to stay on for up to 15 days. When it's time to remove it, pull up the adhesive edge that keeps the sensor attached to your skin, then slowly peel from your skin in a single motion.

When replacing your sensor, remember to choose a different spot on the back of your upper arm to apply the new sensor. This will help avoid skin irritation.

Read our sensor application guide to learn about some optional productsII that can be helpful for removing your sensor.

Useful tips for sensor wear

Applying your sensor

Sensors stick better when you wash, clean and dry your skin before application.

Wash: Only use non-moisturising, fragrance-free soaps to wash the area where you’ll apply the sensor.

Clean: Use the alcohol wipe provided in the sensor kit to remove any oily residue on the skin.

Dry: Allow your skin to fully dry before applying the sensor.

Before you apply the sensor:

Be sure to choose an approved application site − the back of your upper arm

Do not use body lotion or cream where you’ll apply the sensor as it may leave an oily residue on your skin

Do shave any excess arm hair as it can get caught between the sensor adhesive and skin

Keeping your sensor in place

Easy does it: Be careful not to catch your sensor on a doorway, car door, seat belt, or furniture edges.
Pat dry: After a shower or swim, take extra care when towelling off to avoid catching or pulling off your sensor.
Dress for success: Try to give your sensor room by wearing loose-fitting clothing and lightweight material.
Protect it during contact sports and heavy exercise. Be sure to select a site on the back of your upper arm that will minimize the risk of it coming off, and consider using an overbandage and/or any of the items on the previous page.
Slow down : When dressing or undressing, be careful that you don’t catch your undergarments on the sensor.
Hands off : Avoid playing with or pulling the sensor while wearing it.
