Medicinal Ingredients
Bismuth Subsalicylate 17.6 mg/mL Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Benzoic Acid, Flavour, Gellan Gum, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Methylcellulose, Red 22, Red 28, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Salicylate, Sorbic Acid, Sucralose, Water
Recommended Dose
Dosing for adults & children 12 years and over.
30mL (1 dose) every ½ hour or 60 mL (2 doses) every hour as needed for diarrhea/traveler’s diarrhea
30mL (1 dose) every ½ hour as needed for overindulgence (upset stomach, heartburn, indigestion, nausea)
Do not exceed 8 doses (240 mL) in 24 hours
Cautions
Children and teenagers who have or are recovering from chicken pox or flu should not use this medicine to treat vomiting or nausea. If vomiting or nausea is present, consult a doctor because this could be an early sign of reye syndrome, a rare but serious illness. Do not take this product if you are allergic to salicylates including acetylsalicylic acid (asa) or taking other salicylate products. Do not use if you have: � an ulcer � A bleeding problem � Bloody or black stool. Ask a doctor before use if you have: � Fever � Mucus in the stool � When taking tetracycline antibiotics � If taking medicines for anticoagulation (thinning of the blood), diabetes, gout or arthritis � If pregnant or nursing. In case of accidental overdose contact a physician or poison control centre immediately, even if there are no symptoms. Keep all medicines out of reach of children. This package contains enough drug to seriously harm a child.
